Spatial and temporal measures

Although the spatial and temporal measures of gait are very simple to measure, they provide useful information in a very quick fashion. as a screening process they are useful in finding out what is happening to patients in terms of trend.

Speed - meters per second - requires a stopwatch and a known distance of walkway

Cadence - steps per minute - requires a stopwatch

Stride length - meters - requires a tape measure and some poster paint
